Tennessee.
Strange name. Of course, it isn't his real name...but no one really knows what his real name is...soo...Tennessee.
He is the BIGGEST player I have ever met. And therefore...a challenge. He has this charming, suave way about him at all time. Always calm, always in control. Never missing a beat, or a smile, a chance to shock the crowds. He's quick with a story ( and how fantastic they are), and for a man of merely 125 pounds or so, a bottomless pit.
He is also in the theatre, and I had my first run in with him when we were cast in a show together. "Blithe Spirit" it was called. He was the lead, I was his dead wife. It was fate.
So we started talking. Facebook chat. Texting. During Class. After Rehersal. The more you talked to this boy, the more you WANTED to talk to this boy. Of course, I knew I couldn't get close. Mother Abby has set the rules. Given the warnings.
Except.
Everything I was ever taught about him, was nothing like the way he acted when we were together. Of course, I knew that he had to be playing the game. True players never stop playing, so it's impossible to tell when they are and when they aren't running game on you. Never showing true feelings. Hearing but not listening. Seeing but not believing.
But when I found out how he kissed a friend of mine, then stopped flat talking to her- It was time for action. I had said I wasn't going to play games. I was going to look for a guy I TRULY wanted to date. But Tennessee had to be taught a lesson. Right?
What could possibly go wrong?

-Mother- Knows [Best]
-Mother- Knows [Best]
My first week at school I met my R.A. Abby, who had a hall meeting with all the freshman on the floor. We did a few mixers and then to the business of the meeting.
"Since you are Freshman and don't know any better, I've got a list of guys you girls should avoid while going to school here. 1) Akil. He's a junior on the baseball team...he's been known to try to sleep with any girl within 100 yards of him. 2) Kyle. Total pot head. He'll only getcha in trouble. 3) Tennessee. He's here for his 6th year this year...and preys on freshman. Do NOT let him fool you. He only wants to sleep with you and screw with your head."
And so we were warned. We pitiable freshman ate it up. Of course we would stay away! No one wanted to find themselves in a sticky situation, and our RA, soon dubbed, Mom, was never wrong. Cause your mom is ALWAYS right too...right?
Well it wasn't two weeks later and we had proof she must be telling the truth. Rudy Rae and her new dormmate Annabell, and the girls across the hall, Mags and Lily, were on our first drinking adventure. We simply followed the boys to the parties. We stared out the night at a man named Taylor's place, pregaming- playing beer pong (which, lo and behold, I was not too bad at). From Taylor's we walked to the wrestling house, where there was a kegger...and there, sitting on the porch as we walked in, was Akil.
The four of us had no idea of course, who he was, when he smiled and asked our names, (and pregaming for the boys was THE game for our lightweight group, so we were pretty loose with information). We gave our names, we sat and talked...until the cops showed up, and we skattered like skittles when you accidentally rip the bag totally open. Somehow, we found each other, and another boy to lead us home. Logan was his name. We ended up in Logan's room, after putting Mags and Liv to bed, Annabell and I kept on partying. I could tell Annabell and Logan were wanting some aloonne time, but where was I to go?
Suddenly Akil appears at the door, like the pop up book from hell.
"Hey," He says to me, breath heavy with alcohol.
"I live across the hall. You should come over and talk. I'm bored." Remembering the words of my all-knowing-R.A./Mother, I shook my head.
"I dunno. I should stay with Annabell." Wrong Answer. Annabell shook her head.
"No it's okay. you can go. We'll leave the doors open. I wanna talk with Logan anyway."
Well hell, when your drunk how can you argue with that logic?
"Okay." And so over I went. I was out Logans door for 2.4 seconds before his door was shut, and I was being pulled into Akil's room.
He shut his door quickly and pinned me against it, kissing on my neck, hands on my hips, completely shocked look on my face. Hold up. Didn't we agree on open doors? When did that change? How am I gonna get this guy off me? He's twice my size at least. Then his phone went off. Aaaannddd He actually STOPPED to answer the text.
So I bolted. Ran/stumbled the whole way back to my dorm.
From then on, we just ASSUMED Mother Abby was right. About Everything.

19 and {Crazy}.
Freshman Year.
A time to start over.
Mold yourself into what you want to be, forgetting all the scars of your past.
That was the plan.
So much for the plan.
My name, is Rudy Rae, and in High School, I was never one to stick around with any boy too long. Month, month and a half and it was time to run. It was high school. Nothing serious. Nothing permenant. Unfortunately, my running arounds got me abit of a name. Of course, here in college, no one knew that. I walked on to campus that first day, determined to be better. I had Rules now.
Rudy's Rules to Live By:
Don't Rush into relationships.
Get some good Girl friends, not just guys.
Don't Play Games. (Don't Kiss 'im, lessin you're gonna date 'im)
Never buy more than a half gallon of milk at a time.
So there it was. The short, sweet list, which I thought would be easy to follow. How wrong I was. This Nineteen year old brunette was in for more than she bargained for.
